Job Summary:

The Coordinator of Beyond School Programming is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the before and after-care programs, intersessions, and expeditions, while fostering partnerships, managing digital learning platforms, facilitating family communication, collecting fees, and seeking funding opportunities to enrich the overall programming. This role plays a pivotal part in creating a holistic educational experience for students beyond regular school hours.

 

Job Duties:

  1. Curriculum Coordination:
  • Develop and coordinate curriculum for before and after school programming, as well as intersession programs, to provide engaging and educational activities for students.

 

  1. Partnership Establishment:
  • Identify and establish partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and educational institutions to enrich and supplement the beyond school programming, offering diverse and meaningful experiences to students.

 

  1. Digital Learning Platforms Management:
  • Manage digital learning platforms such as Boost and IXL, overseeing student progress, conducting competitions, and ensuring the platforms contribute to the educational growth of students.

 

  1. Family Communication:
  • Maintain open and effective communication channels with families, keeping them informed about program activities, schedules, and achievements of their children.

 

  1. Fee Collection and Tracking:
  • Utilize the MySchoolBucks platform to collect and track fees for beyond school programming, ensuring timely and accurate payments.

 

  1. Funding Opportunities:
  • Research, identify, and apply for funding opportunities, such as grants like the "Close the Gap," to enhance and expand beyond school programming offerings.

 

  1. Expeditions Planning:
  • Plan and coordinate expeditions, both beyond and during the school day, to provide students with unique and enriching learning experiences.

 

  1. Module Meetings:
  • Attend module meetings related to expedition planning, contributing ideas and insights to ensure successful execution.

 

  1. Student Recruitment:
  • Serve as a member of the Student Recruitment Team, working to attract and retain students for Atlas Public Schools while actively championing the school’s mission and vision.

 

  1. Staffing Coordination:
  • Coordinate staffing needs for beyond school programming, including hiring, scheduling, and managing payroll for staff members.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Prior experience in curriculum development and coordination.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with digital learning platforms and educational technology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective family and partner engagement.
  • Financial acumen for fee collection and budget management.
  • Grant-writing and fundraising experience preferred.
  • Passion for creating enriching educational experiences for students outside of regular school hours.
