Seismic upgrades are complete, a new stairwell has been installed, and drywall has been hung for each classroom. Our contractors are now working on taping, painting, and installing ceiling tile.
UPDATE 2.3.2023: We are moving to our permanent home!
We’re happy to share a facilities update: we’re moving to 400 South 18th Street!
The 18th Street Building is large and requires a phased approach to construction.
- Phase 1 will bring the building up to code and will include the fit out of 25 classroom spaces on the first two floors, a multipurpose room, and a playground. We are almost finished with Phase 1 construction. It was originally set to be finished August 21st, but right now we are tracking ahead of schedule, hopefully for the week of August 7th-11th.
- Classrooms are spacious, bright, and flexible! Our entire K-5 program can fit in this Phase 1 build out.
- We’ll have a playground- we have broken ground for the playground, and we are waiting for the playground pieces to ship from the UK! We aren’t sure if the playground will be ready for the first day of school, but it should be built within the first few weeks of school!
- The building is big enough for us to be able to add an early childhood center and grow into a middle school!
- Being located near Union Station, the Aquarium, the soccer stadium, Central Library, the MetroLink, and Amtrak will enable awesome place-based learning partnerships to form which will lead to amazing experiences for our kids!
